This conference is dedicated to Prof. Jochen Guck, whose recent passing has been a big blow for the community (read our statement). To preserve his legacy we will be awarding the “Jochen Guck Prize” for the most promising Biomedical implementation of Brillouin Spectroscopy presented at the meeting, which will also be awarded in the future annually at these meetings.

We are delighted to invite you to the 9th International Conference on Brillouin Light Scattering for Life Sciences and Biomedical Applications, which continues in the tradition of eight successful BioBrillouin Meetings and training schools previously funded by the EU COST Action BioBrillouin (CA16124).

This conference is dedicated to the discussion of advances in the field of Brillouin Light Scattering Microspectroscopy for Biological and Biomedical Research and Applications. Topics covered include (but are not limited to):

• Instrument/Technique Development & Design
• Data Analysis & Interpretation
• Life Sciences & Biomedical Applications
• Complementary & Correlative Studies and Techniques

The meeting will take place at the historic
Harnack House in Berlin, Germany – the conference venue of the Max Planck Society. This unique location provides an engaging and peaceful setting right in the heart of Berlin. The event will host leading researchers working in the field and offer ample opportunities for networking. We hope to foster the initiation of collaborative projects with applications in diverse areas including instrument design, fundamental biophysics, cell biology, pharmaceutical research, and clinical research.
